Optimize Mini Grid Battery Placement

The purpose of this tool is to optimize the placement of a battery for a mini grid.

The primary constraint here is that electricity loses voltage as it travels along distribution line. Thus the battery should be placed in a way to connect as many service drop poles and leave room for the mini grid to expand.

Tool Arguments

  • Service Drop Pole Locations (Longitude, Latitude)
  • Maximum Distance of each Pole from the Battery as measured along the distribution line
  • Region Geometries where a battery can be placed
